I suspect there was no one system of collecting names. I don't think [livejournal.com profile] jdsampson was lying when she said she picked some people to invite after reading and liking their stuff. I also think they went to larger single-fandom archives like Wraithbait or GW or that LotR archive and started randomly selecting names too. That would account for why there's no one place that everyone from one fandom was contacted from.

Sounds like you were pretty patient. I'm thinking that the het and slash communities are so used to running in different circles (especially since many of the SGA writers hail from the ship wars of SG-1) that it's a cold-water shock for many to see them brought together.

Well, it was my fault. Oddly, that probably helped me handle it better than I would have otherwise.

[livejournal.com profile] lostcityfound is a great resource. And I'd sing Miera's praises a bit more, but she'd probably think I was plotting against her or something. ;)

And from your other comment... So, what was I saying? Oh. Yeah. I'm not really just in the Atlantis fandom.

Yeah, I meant to say LJ fannish areas, not Atlantis fandom. The bulk of the fandom is here, but there are some pockets elsewhere. A good chunk of the people at GW aren't connected to the LJ side of fandom that much, so it'd make sense that fans who came from the GW corner didn't get the memo about FanLib.
