Fanlib Story Stats for June 1st
7PM EST

Stats compared with those posted yesterday, and some additional ones posted to begin a starting comparison.

Harry Potter (513) With Adult (553) ... was (513) and (553) No change
Stargate: SG-1 (158) With Adult (161)
Supernatural (155) With Adult (188)
CSI (150) With Adult (182) ... was (149) and (181) +1
Stargate: Atlantis (138) With Adult (143)
Star Wars (137) With Adult (141)
Battlestar Galactica: 2003 (113) With Adult (129)
Lord of the Rings (65) With Adult (71) ... was (65) and (71) No change
Heroes (29) With Adult (30)
Law and Order: SVU (18) With Adult (19)
4400 (5) With Adult (5)

The extra ones I'm adding into the count are the ones that I could for see there being... rating issues in based what I know of the fandoms. I understand that most of these numbers are useless out of context but I'm planning on doing a systematic update and I have to start somewhere. I picked ones with specific "adult themes" or copywrite timebombs.

For comparison here are the FanFiction.net stats for the same fandoms...

Harry Potter (297,218)
Stargate: SG-1 (15,708)
Supernatural (8,622)
CSI (16,296)
Stargate: Atlantis (8,174)
Star Wars (17,816)
Battlestar Galactica: 2003 (2,203)
Lord of the Rings (39,963)
Heroes (894)
Law and Order: SVU (4,161)
4400 (238)

I never really understood this issue, but it has come up several times. Coming from BtVS and AtS (where the Foxhounds were always at our heels closing sites left and right) I've found the LOTR fandom to be a very comfy place in this regard.

Could someone enlighten me where this perception comes from that LOTR is especially endangered?
